I WANT TO MEET JAMES GANDOLFINI!!!.........

Until Talia was born, 'I' was the writer in the family. I have been working on my Great American Novel since Christ left Chicago! And I still say "it's almost done". But until I become famous for it's publication and subsequent best seller status, I'm going to have to settle for this - this 'blog' thing. So...on to my first topic.

My user name, for the most part, has always been GroupieGirl1969. (I only added the 1969 because at the time, the name GroupieGirl by itself was already being used, & by some phoney no doubt) Boy, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it? In the late 60's, I was what they would call a Groupie. I was at Woodstock in 1969 and then 30 years later, my daughter went for an anniversary concert. People always ask me what was it like that first time, with all the rain and mud and overdosing, and even the birth of a baby. And I have to tell them the truth - I saw Woodstock from the vantage point of backstage. And when the heat and the humidity and the rain took over, I hid in the comfort of an air conditioned trailer that was only one of the many parked in back of the staging area. In my travels with rock bands back in the day, among many other things, I sat within inches while David Bowie applied his eye make-up before a show and listened intently while he explained why he preferred doing this sort of thing to himself. I chit-chatted with a pregnant hairdresser as she trimmed Rod Stewart's signature shag while she promised to 'do me' just like that. I was at the Philmore East, Philmore West and attended the Monterey Pop Festival where Jimmi Hendrix became a legend. And I was 'there' at every other rock concert across America in between and on the way. But I was never really a devoted fan of any one particular group or any one particular member. I was just 'there'. At least that's how I refer to it and how I mostly remember it. Long story of how I got there and of the many more first person encounters and experiences - but it's all in the book! My point of all this right now is this: I never had the fortitiude and the tenaciousness of my lovely, enterprising Talia. Such Kudo's Tal for your eventual meeting with Eddie Vedder! As your mother, I obviously know of the admiration that you have for him and his Pearl Jam. And I gotta say, I don't know that I could have gone to the lengths that you do when your mind is set on what you want to do and who you want to meet - and especially your accomplishments of the same. You amaze me more and more everyday my darling.

And now, do you think you could help me out here with MY passion person. I know I'm no spring chicken but I'm game for any suggesstions you may have. Please, please help me - tell me what to do, where to go and how to go about it: I WANT TO MEET JAMES GANDOLFINI!!!

P.S.
First, can you help me and tell me how I could have inserted a photo of him here. That's just for those numb-nuts who don't know who he is.
